It has been a long time since I have posted. The hospital I co-founded 3 years ago, Timberline Veterinary Emergency and Specialty, has grown quickly and last month, we moved to a larger location. We now have a surgery department, oncology, internal medicine, a community blood bank, as well as 24/7 emergency and critical care.
While I spend most of time caring for ECC patients and deep in hospital operations, I still spend a lot of time thinking about the veterinary profession as a whole. How do we continue to make sure veterinarians control veterinary medicine? What does it take to be an effective veterinary owner and practice leader? What does quality look like and how do you successfully imbed it within your culture? How do we keep building community so we can all support each other? Now that we are moved, I hope to get back to writing about these subjects and more.
In the meantime, I did have a chance to talk with Caleb Frankel, CEO at Instinct on his podcast, Pick the Brain, about patient safety.
